Welcome! We invite you to spend a few moments looking at our library Website. With help from the State Library of Iowa, we are able to create a place on the Web where you, our customers, can explore, learn and get help with all your information needs.

(Effective September 5 and will continue throughout the school year.)

Wednesday: 1:00pm-7:00pm

Thursday: 1:00pm-5:30pm

Friday: 10:00am-5:00pm

Saturday: 9:00am-12:00 noon


Library News & Events


 

OCTOBER

Lego Club-- All 1st graders-8th graders are welcome. We are taking sign-ups for either Tuesday, October 9 (3:45-4:45pm) OR Wednesday, October 10 (2:45-3:45pm) Registration is required.

Noah’s Ark Build a Dog Workshop will be happening on October 11 at either 9:30am or 6:30pm. Thanks for prepaying. The response was awesome!! We plan on doing another one in the Spring. Those who haven’t done one already at the Boyden Library will get first chance.

Club 56 will meet October 15 right after school in the Boyden Library. All 5th and 6th grade girls are welcome!

New Library Program ... What’s in the Box?? Wednesday, October 17 from 2:45pm-4:00pm. Kids are invited to come to the library and be creative. Each box will have a variety of craft items and you will work as a team to create something unique. This is geared towards school aged kids. Please sign up in the library so we have some sort of an idea of how many boxes to have ready.

Fall Story Hour is happening soon! The dates are Tuesday, October 23, 9:30am OR 6:30pm, Monday, October 29, 9:30am OR 6:30pm, and Monday, November 5, 9:30am OR 6:30 pm. All 3-6 year olds are welcome. Join us for some fun! Please sign up at the Boyden Public Library.

Story Hour in Spanish

Read to Me – a story time in Spanish...We will be starting a new program at the library in Spanish! The first Thursday of every month beginning November 1st from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm “Léeme cuentos” or Read to me. We will be reading a book in Spanish, doing an activity and having a snack. This story hour will be geared towards children who are in preschool (ages 3-6) and who speak Spanish or are bilingual. If you have any questions please call Jessica Diaz at 712-541-8650.

¡Comenzaremos un nuevo programa en la biblioteca en español! El primer jueves de cada mes a partir del 1 de noviembre de 6:15 p.m. a 7:15 p.m. que se llama Léeme Cuentos. Estaremos leyendo un libro en español, haciendo una actividad y vamos a tener algo pequeño para los niños para comer. Esta hora de cuentos estará dirigida a niños que están en edad preescolar (edades 3-6) y que hablan español o son bilingües. Si tiene alguna pregunta, llame a Jessica Diaz al 712-541-8650.

***Do you sometimes forget when the next book club is, or when the next story time is? We are hoping this awesome new offering at the library will help you stay connected. We, at the Boyden Public Library, are now signed up with Remind. This program will send you texts reminding you of upcoming events at the library. We have info at the library on how to sign up for it or follow these directions. Please ask if you have any questions!

This is a new E-book and Audiobook Consortium for Iowa Libraries to provide you with over 16,500 e-books and 7,500 audiobooks.  You can download the e-books with your library card number. This Bridges Site is also has the name OVERDRIVE in the app stores.
