Saturday  9:00a-12:00p

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours: the library will close at 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 25 and will be closed all day Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. The library will be open regular hours on Saturday, November 28 from 9-12.

We are continuing our curbside pick up if this is preferable to you. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this uncharted time for us.


                  

Library Guidelines for Reopening-Phase 2

-If you are ill or have any symptoms of illness, do not enter the library.

-1:00-2:00 each Tuesday will be for those over 55 or those with underlying health issues.

-Number of people allowed in the library at any time is 10.

-Patrons should limit their time in the library to 30 minutes.

-Computer usage is reduced to 15 minutes per day.

-Curbside delivery will continue for those who feel more comfortable with this.

-Social distance yourself in the library.

-Please continue to return your materials to the drop box.

-Please be aware our restrooms and drinking fountains remain closed.

-Sanitize your hands before entering the library.



 

Library News & Events

Club 56 will meet November 16 right after school at the library. All girls in the 5th and 6th grade are welcome to attend!

Boyden Book Club will be meeting on Monday, November 16 at 7:00pm. We will be discussing “Annie Freeman’s Fabulous Traveling Funeral.” This month we will be celebrating 10 years of having this book club!! Time flies when you are having fun!! We will be celebrating with treats. If you haven’t been to book club in a while, come join us for this special night. It is never too late to join the book club. We have a great time! Call the library with questions at 725-2281.

Thanksgiving Story Time for kids 3-6 years old will be on Monday, November 23 at 6:30 pm OR Tuesday November 24 at 9:30 am. We will have fun reading books, playing games, and making a craft. Please sign up at the library.

Christmas Make and Take! Make plans to come to the library on Monday, November 30. Sarah Van Meeteren of HaLo Seasonal Living has designed a Christmas craft for you to make and to display in your home. The cost is $20 and preregistration is required. Space is limited to 20 people. Be watching the library’s Facebook page for a picture. Sarah will also have a sample on display at the library by November 4. This event starts at 6:30pm and refreshments will be served. Call a friend and
make plans to attend this special event. Any questions, please ask!

***Do you sometimes forget when the next book club is, or when the next story time is? We are hoping this awesome new offering at the library will help you stay connected. We, at the Boyden Public Library, are now signed up with Remind. This program will send you texts reminding you of upcoming events at the library. We have info at the library on how to sign up for it or follow these directions. Please ask if you have any questions!

***Reminder to parents....please be familiar with our library hours and make sure that when it is closing time your child has been picked up. Thank you for your consideration.

***Volunteers please...Is there anyone who would be willing to donate snacks to the library when we have after school programs? These snacks could be homemade or bought. Please let us know if you have questions or if you are interested in helping your library! Thank you!

 What is BRIDGES: Iowa's e-Library?   

This is a new E-book and Audiobook Consortium for Iowa Libraries to provide you with over 16,500 e-books and 7,500 audiobooks.  You can download the e-books with your library card number. This Bridges Site is also has the name OVERDRIVE in the app stores.
