Welcome! We invite you to spend a few moments looking at our library Website. With help from the State Library of Iowa, we are able to create a place on the Web where you, our customers, can explore, learn and get help with all your information needs.

AUGUST

A BIG THANK YOU to all the individuals and businesses who made donations to the Summer Reading Program. We all had a great time and your donations of time, food, and money to our program is very much appreciated!

Boyden Book Club will meet on Monday, August 20 at 7:00pm. We will be reading the book “Left Neglected.” Please see the Librarian if you need a copy. We always welcome new members!

 

SEPTEMBER

Thursday, September 6 from 6:30pm-8:00pm-Veg Out-Explore garden produce: How to choose it, store it and prepare it. Tips for including vegetables (and fruits) into meals and snacks. Includes knife skills and tasting! Presented by Renee Sweers, Nutrition and Wellness Specialist, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Watch for more information at the library and on our Facebook page!

Happy 75th Birthday, Curious George-Story Time-September 18 (9:30am or 6:30pm). Ages 3-6 years old are welcome! Games, craft, and books! Please sign up at the library. 

Summer Travel- Are you taking a road trip this summer? Keep in mind we have many online services for your reading enjoyment. Whether it be Tumblebooks (online animated books for kids) Zinio (online magazines) or Bridges (online e-books and audio books) we have you covered! See below!

***Do you sometimes forget when the next book club is, or when the next story time is? We are hoping this awesome new offering at the library will help you stay connected. We, at the Boyden Public Library, are now signed up with Remind. This program will send you texts reminding you of upcoming events at the library. We have info at the library on how to sign up for it or follow these directions. Please ask if you have any questions!

 What is BRIDGES: Iowa's e-Library?   

This is a new E-book and Audiobook Consortium for Iowa Libraries to provide you with over 16,500 e-books and 7,500 audiobooks.  You can download the e-books with your library card number. This Bridges Site is also has the name OVERDRIVE in the app stores.
