Holiday Hours: We will be closing at 3:00 on Thursday, December 31 and will be closed on Friday, January 1.

Happy New Year! We look forward to serving our patrons in the year 2021! If you have never been to the library before we hope you make it your resolution to visit us soon. Whether it be books, magazines, DVD’s we have something new every day!


Library Guidelines

-If you are ill or have any symptoms of illness, do not enter the library.

-Please return your materials to the drop box.

-Sanitize your hands before entering the library.

-Number of people allowed in the library at any time is 10.

-Patrons should limit their time in the library to 30 minutes.

-Social distance yourself in the library.

-Please be aware our drinking fountains remain closed. Restrooms are open.



Library News & Events

Club 56 will meet January 18 at 3:45pm at the library. All girls in the 5th and 6th grade are welcome to attend!

Boyden Book Club will be meeting on Monday, January 18 at 7:00pm. We will be reading the book “Educated” by Tara Westover. I have extra copies of this book at the library so let me know if you need a copy. Call the library with questions at 725-2281.

Weather…It’s that time of the year again when the weather can change suddenly and the roads get slick and snow covered. If the library needs to be closed due to weather we will post it on our Facebook page and on KIWA.


***E-books Did you receive a new device to enjoy the gift of reading? Make sure to use the library’s apps, Libby(Bridges) and Tumblebooks to access the library from anywhere at any time with your library card. Stop in the library if you need help.

***Do we have your correct addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses on file? Don’t be surprised if we check with you while you check out at the library. Feel free to contact us with your current contact information!

***Keep in mind we have many online services for your reading enjoyment. Whether it be Tumblebooks (online animated books for kids) Zinio (online magazines) or Bridges (online e-books and audio books) we have you covered! See below!

***Did you know that the Library has a number of services to help our community members of all ages?

***Do you sometimes forget when the next book club is, or when the next story time is? We are hoping this awesome new offering at the library will help you stay connected. We, at the Boyden Public Library, are now signed up with Remind. This program will send you texts reminding you of upcoming events at the library. We have info at the library on how to sign up for it or follow these directions. Please ask if you have any questions!

***Reminder to parents....please be familiar with our library hours and make sure that when it is closing time your child has been picked up. Thank you for your consideration.

***Volunteers please...Is there anyone who would be willing to donate snacks to the library when we have after school programs? These snacks could be homemade or bought. Please let us know if you have questions or if you are interested in helping your library! Thank you!



 What is BRIDGES: Iowa's e-Library?   

This is a new E-book and Audiobook Consortium for Iowa Libraries to provide you with over 16,500 e-books and 7,500 audiobooks.  You can download the e-books with your library card number. This Bridges Site is also has the name OVERDRIVE in the app stores.
